More than 2.5 million Canadians have diabetes. 750,000 don’t realize they have it,
about 60,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Over 144,000 people in Alberta have

In the past years, researchers at the Julia McFarlane Diabetes Research Centre have gained worldwide attention with important discoveries that they hope will speed up the cure for diabetes. Since 1994, more than $3.5 million has been raised in Calgary and surrounding areas by the Diabetes Association (Foothills), to go directly to diabetes research.
